Coast
This route starts at the south west coastal area of The Netherlands where you will pass impressive water works which protect the country against floods. In the second part of the route you will move away from the North Sea coast and you will cycle along the big rivers which cross the Netherlands. Last part of the route is through forest area. This is the only route which is not a circular one but a route which starts and finishes in different places.More
Lake
This is a circular route along the largest lake of the Netherland, the ‘IJsselmeer’. It was an inland sea until 1932. The tour starts along a small river in the direction of Amsterdam from where you will soon join the shores of the IJsselmeer (pronounciation I sell mere). Halfway you will take a 2 hour boat trip from Enkhuizen to Stavoren where you will arrive in the Frisian part of the country which has its own language, Frisian. On the second part of the route you will pass the hansiac towns of Kampen and Harderwijk. Last part of the route will be through the forests east of Utrecht. More
River
As the name of this route indicates, water is the central theme here. You will be surprised to notice the diversity of the Dutch river landscape. You will cycle along and cross several types of rivers, some navigable by recreational boats, some navigable by cargo ships. You will cycle in the neighbourhood of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, but still experience a rural atmosphere. Other highlights include the towns of Gouda and Dordrecht, the mills of Kinderdijk and the castle Loevestein. More
Veluwe
Very diverse landscape with woods, moors, polders and river landscape (with several ferry crossings). You will notice that Holland is not completely flat since you will pass some hills around Arnhem. Along the way you will pass some historic towns like Arnhem, famous for the operation “Market garden” during WWII and the national open air museum, and smaller towns like Bronkhorst, smallest town in the Netherlands, Doesburg and Zutphen.More
