For successful biking holidays in the Netherlands you need:

· A good physical condition and sufficient time

Concerning the good weather you should be aware that it rains for about 6% of the time in The Netherlands. Good garment en good bike bags will assure that you keep dry when the weather gods are not with you. A good physical condition and enough time we leave to you but with regards to the other items we can offer:

1. Good quality bikes and accessories

DAT disposes of outstanding quality touring bikes which ride very lightly but which are robust as well allowing you to ride on unpaved roads. Each bike has a steering bag, a bike computer, (cable)lockers and a drinking bottle. The bikes have been assured against theft and damage. Also each group will have a cardholder on the steer and reparation material (with manual). Furthermore we have other accessories for rent like rain resistant bags (front and back), GPS and rain garment.

For children we have special bikes which are fit to their size. And for children who will not ride their own bike we have special provisions as trailer bikes or child seats. Please consider carefully how you want to travel with your children. If you have any question about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

2. Enjoyable routes

For a successful biking trip it is important that the routes are enjoyable and (relatively) free of cars. By experience we know that these are not always to be found, especially when they have to be on-going. The routes chosen by us guarantee a diverse landscape and will bring you through picturesque villages and towns. In the section “Routes” you will find a brief description together with a slide show.

When you have booked the trip you will get a detailed route description together with large scale maps. Also we will provide you with touristic information about the region.

3. Nice, comfortable accommodation

Since we know the region very well, we were able to chose from the best accommodation available in the desired price category. Most of the time it concerns (luxury) B&B’s or small countryside hotels which have a personal touch and offer all modern conveniences.

4. (optional) Canoe and hiking arrangements

Apart from biking it is also possible to do a part of the trip by foot or canoe. For canoeing the rivers “Linge” and “Kromme Rijn” (Curved Rhine) are very appropriate. On both the routes we offer canoe arrangements. You can choose between half a day or a whole day and you can choose to return to the point of departure or finish at another point where your bikes will be waiting and the canoes will be collected (this will include additional costs). On the reservation form you can indicate how many days you would like to have such an arrangement.

For walking the best is to take one or more resting days between the biking days. You can hike a circle trip for one day for which we will give you a route description. You do not have to make reservations for hiking in advance but if you intend to do so, please plan the resting days in such a way that you will have plenty of time. Recommended hiking spots are:

River tour: National Park “de Biesbosch”, Gouda (city wandering), Dordrecht (city wandering).

Veluwe tour: Nijmegen and surroundings, National Park “Hoge Veluwe”.

5. Additional services

We offer several additional services to make your biking trip easier. The most important (and unfortunately also the most expensive) is the luggage transport service. Instead of taking your luggage with you, you can have your luggage transported from hotel/B&B to hotel/B&B. If you do not want to make use of this service you can rent bike bags to keep your luggage dry and safe. Luggage which you do not want to take with you during the trip you can leave with us (free of charge). Other services we offer include:

Car Parking – we make sure your car will be safely parked during your trip (7,50 Euro a day).
