I have another question
1. Why would I make a cycling tour offered
by DAT?
DAT has a unique concept in which
individual freedom, being active and luxury are combined. We make sure that you
will have the best cycling material which is specially prepared for your build
and your condition, we have selected the finest routes running through the most
beautiful landscapes of The Netherlands and we have chosen accommodation, fit
to your budget, but always good value for money. The accommodation is mostly
small scale, located in the countryside, and provided with the luxury which
makes you feel at home.
Also we offer additional
services, such as:
-
Luggage
transfer and luggage deposit
-
Use
of GPS
-
Reparation/replacement
service
-
Car
parking
2. How
many miles/kilometers a day take the daily stages?
You can chose between 45 and 60
kilometers a day (30 respective 40 miles). We recommend people who are less
experienced to cycle 45 kilometer a day which will take about three hours
(excluding resting time). In this way enough time will remain to visit
touristic sites during the day or to have lunch in one the many
restaurants/terraces along the way (touristic information will be provided)
3. I
would like to rent a racing bike
From 2010 onwards DAT will
organize cycling tours for racing cycles (including the rent). These tours will
be partly in The Netherlands and partly in Belgium. Please have a look at this
website from time to time to read the latest news or subscribe to our
newsletter.
4. How
many stages are in a DAT cycling tour?
You can chose between 3, 4 or 7
stages (45 km/30 miles a day) and between 3 and 5 stages (60 km/40 miles a
day). This is excluding resting days. If you want to chose a different number
of stages, please contact us so that we will offer a personalized tour.
5. Can
I take resting days during the tour?
You can chose as many resting
days as you want. We recommend not to cycle more than three days in a row so
that you will have a day off on which you can recover and take more time to do
other things. On the booking form you can indicate how many rest days you want
to take.
6. I
want to book accommodation before or after the tour
On the booking form you can
indicate if you want accommodation before or after your tour.
Utrecht is a historic town,
centrally located in The Netherlands. Because of a busy student life the town
is rich in culture and there is a large variety in restaurants and bars.
Especially the wharfs on the Oude Gracht (Old canal) are tempting to have a
drink (or two). Utrecht is also an ideal base to explore Amsterdam (30 minutes
by train) or Rotterdam (45 minutes by train). Since it can be risky to cycle in
these cities, we advice to visit these towns before or after your cycling tour
.
7. What
do the tours organized by DAT cost?

12.
Why is Utrecht the starting/finishing points of
the tours?
Well, since we live in this
region, the choice for Utrecht was a logical one. Furthermore, Utrecht is
centrally located in the Netherlands and easily accessible. And fortunately,
there is a great diversity in landscapes in the surroundings of Utrecht making
the cycling tours very enjoyable.
13.
Is there a lot of rain in The Netherlands
About 6% of the time it rains in The
Netherlands. Fortunately there are very few days when it rains all day. In that
case you have the possibility to shorten your route or even take the train for
a part. But our rain garments and
special waterproof bike bags will make sure that you and your belongings do not
have to be afraid of some showers.
